For immediate veterinary consultation and/or care, it’s important to recognize certain animal emergencies, including severe bleeding, choking, difficulty breathing, injuries to the eyes, suspected or known ingestion of poisonous substances, seizures, fractures, signs of pain or extreme anxiety, heat stress, severe vomiting or diarrhea, refusal to drink for 24 hours or more, and unconsciousness. Any concern about your pet’s health warrants at least a call to your veterinarian.
